Aviation Theme Park Aviodrome
The aviation theme park opened in 1971 under the name “Aviodome” in Schiphol (NL) and has been located on the grounds of Lelystad Airport since 2003. At the aviation museum, visitors can view and touch various aircraft exhibits from Dutch aviation history.
The Aviodrome museum building also houses a large conference hall used for lectures and events. To ensure a comfortable indoor climate there and eliminate drafts, the entire ventilation system was retrofitted with DEOS’s OPENbalance control technology (now: OPENdynamics)—featuring integrated Bosch technology. OPENdynamics creates a balanced ratio between supply and exhaust air (airflow balance) and utilizes the natural movement of air molecules to distribute the air evenly throughout the room (diffusion instead of ventilation). This results in a noticeably more comfortable indoor climate, as the insulating layers of air remain intact. With its innovative control concept, OPENdynamics always sets the ventilation systems to the most cost-effective operating point, thereby guaranteeing significant energy and cost savings for the Aviodrome.
