adidas Distribution Center
DEOS ensures optimal climate in adidas’ largest distribution center
In 2013, the adidas Group opened its largest distribution center in terms of floor space (55,000 m²) in Niedersachsenpark, north of Osnabrück. All processes and services for the adidas and Reebok brands are managed from there, and deliveries to all of Western Europe are ordered.
An optimal storage and working temperature is required for high-bay warehouses, sorting workstations, and administrative workstations. To ensure good air quality at workstations and in social areas, air exchange is achieved via four ventilation systems. MSR technology from DEOS ensures that different media such as air heaters, radiant ceiling panels, radiators, and ventilation systems work together perfectly.
Approximately 800 data points are connected to six OPEN 600 EMS and OPEN 810 EMS controllers with 54 OPEN IO modules throughout the distribution center. All controllers are BACnet-compatible so that the system can later be connected to an Adidas GLT. The control cabinets are connected to each other via fiber optic cables and equipped with a tablet PC for convenient and fully graphical operation on site. In addition, the web-based GLT software OPENweb with its function modules (logbook, event server, event control center) is in use. There is a second PC in the gatekeeper’s area, from which the entire system can also be operated and monitored. This ensures that any malfunctions can be responded to quickly at any time.
