OPENbalance optimizes climate control and energy use at the De Swaneburg Sports Center

The Dutch system partner DELTECS Control Systems has equipped the municipal swimming pool De Swaneburg with OPEN-balance, the innovative cost-performance unit for ventilation systems from DEOS Control Systems GmbH.
De Swaneburg is a complex sports center featuring an indoor swimming pool and a large sports hall in the municipality of Coevorden in the Dutch province of Drenthe.

Optimal climatic conditions – The control center for ventilation systems

The challenge with this project was that, due to the high costs of the extensive renovation of the outdated building structure starting in 2015, the pool management had to forgo a portion of the municipality’s annual budget and therefore sought long-term ways to reduce energy and operating costs.

The swimming pool was therefore equipped with a highly efficient solution that always finds the most economical energy mix while maintaining a comfortable environment for swimmers: OPENbalance. This system visually displays all operating conditions and costs—in real time. The air flow rate was significantly reduced from 6 times per hour to 1.25 times per hour. This not only saves energy but also reduces the need for regular water refills in the pool and lowers chlorine consumption.

The rapid success was due to the short installation time of the individual components and the immediate results achieved.
