District heating network Stadtwerke Hanau – Monitoring CHP plants with the Connect Box
Stadtwerke Hanau offers its partners efficient energy contracting solutions for smart energy supply. The aim is to provide customers with a sustainable, decentralized, and secure supply of electricity and heat. Our long-standing and certified DEOS partner EMSR-Technik GmbH from Echzell (north of Frankfurt) has impressed Stadtwerke with this DEOS solution.
Local heating systems remotely monitored with Connect Box
The company was looking for a solution for remote maintenance and operational monitoring of its distributed CHP and gas boiler systems. The main energy meters at the five current locations also needed to be remotely readable, with data stored and processed centrally. Stadtwerke Hanau opted for a DEOS solution.
Secure system operation with DEOS – monitored remotely
The DEOS remote solution for remote system maintenance consists of hardware boxes (DEOS Connect Box) for connection to the DEOS Cloud and the Connect operating/admin portal. Together, the solution is optimized for easy installation and operation, maximum IT security, and the integration of (manufacturer-neutral) third-party systems. With this solution, the system data is transferred to the DEOS pro.Building Suite’s proprietary IoT/cloud platform. The DEOS Cloud GLT OPENweb uses this data for visualization, system monitoring, and operation. At the same time, the operating data is documented and forwarded to the municipal utility’s higher-level control technology. The holistic solution thus created contributes to smooth system operation and continuous energy supply to the customer.
Automated and error-free – reading energy meters
The DEOS Connect Box offers particular added value, as technicians no longer need to travel to remote properties to read meters manually. This saves employee resources/time, fuel for cars (CO2 emissions) and avoids manual transfer errors in the energy management system (EMS). Today, the meter data is automatically transferred to the existing energy management system of the municipal utilities via the API interface of the DEOS pro.Building Suite®. There, the data is further processed for billing and customer information purposes.
