Museum of History of Islamic Science (MHIS)
The 4,000-square-meter museum, which also serves as a conference and exhibition hall, is adjacent to the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech). The building brings together the history of Islamic science with current teaching and research.
The high temperatures in Oman posed a particular challenge. DEOS 810 Series BACnet controllers and decentralized FCU control units ensure a comfortable climate throughout the museum. These enable intelligent control of the ventilation systems and fan coil units. Overall monitoring of the entire system is handled via the DEOS building management system OPENweb. Alarm management is also implemented here. Intuitive operation and visualization take place via a 10-inch touch display on the control cabinet, as well as via a central server and connected client PCs.
In addition to the ventilation systems, the DEOS system also controls the video surveillance system (CCTV), the elevators, the uninterruptible power supply (UPS), and the facade lighting controlled via DMX.
