The Wörthersee Stadium is situated in a beautiful landscape of mountain ranges and green hills between Klagenfurt and Lake Wörthersee. After a 20-month construction period, the stadium, which seats 32,000 fans, was completed in time for the start of the 2008 UEFA European Championship.

To ensure efficient and environmentally friendly energy management, all lighting and ventilation systems were equipped with state-of-the-art building management technology from DEOS AG.
Two OPEN 3000 EMS controllers monitor and regulate over 928 physical data points, six ventilation systems, various exhaust vents, and cassette air conditioning units. The entire lighting, blind, and floodlight control system, including the outdoor parking lots, is also controlled via the DDC controllers. Fault messages in the stadium’s electrical distribution panels are monitored. Phase monitoring protects the drive units in the event that a 100% power supply cannot be guaranteed.
Increased operational safety is guaranteed by fault current monitoring devices. The emergency power generator is activated and monitored. A peak load shedding circuit ensures that specified maximum power levels are not exceeded to avoid unnecessary costs. A prerequisite for this is the determination of consumption values, which are recorded on a controller or a PC for the building management system.
